JUNIORS:Our present and future
Our hobby is a family oriented affair. In this fast-paced era, it is wonderful to have a relaxing and rewarding endeavor the entire family can enjoy. We encourage youth to join us. Without them to carry on as we grow older, there will be no stewards of our passion. As our children grow and move on to their own adult lives, if we can give them a basis of the hobby to whet their appitite and a memory to draw on in the future, some day they may carry on where we left off.
With the Future Rockhounds of America Program, the American Federation offers a comprehensive program of learning and fun for our youth. Junior members learn about earth processes, collecting, mineral identification, rockhounding with the computer, and reaching across generations just to name a few. Hatrockhounds utilizes the resources from this program to give our young folks an understanding of the gelogic world and to help create enthusiasm and a desire to learn.
